What is Vedic Astrology?
Vedic Astrology is the traditional Indian form of astrology.
In India, astrology is called Jyotish which translates as the science or knowledge of light: the light of the heavenly sky as well as the light of inner perception. The two are not only intimately connected, but are a reflection of each other and serve as a means to connect the individual with the universe. Each individual is unique and has a special destiny to fulfill. Vedic astrology can give important information about one’s personal purpose in life and the unfolding karmas that are manifesting at any given moment.
In Vedic Astrology, the Moon is of paramount importance as it represents your consciousness and how the world reveals itself to you. Unlike Western Astrology, with its emphasis on Sun signs, Vedic Astrology looks to the Moon as the pivotal planet, the one which reveals the unfolding of karma in life. We all see the world a little bit differently and the Moon represents how we see this beautiful world. Accordingly, there is great emphasis placed on aligning one’s perceptions with life choices which are dharmically appropriate.
